PRESS RELEASE ON THE APPOINTMENT OF DANIEL REISIEGEL – 30 January 2025

"This is a great honour for me. I see my appointment as a significant recognition of my work to date, but also as a commitment to contribute my experience to strengthening the financial transparency of this prestigious international organisation," the experienced auditor commented on his appointment.

Daniel Reisiegel has been responsible for dozens of financial and performance audits at the SAO. He contributed to the translation of International Public Sector Accounting Standards (IPSAS). He also gained experience in auditing international institutions during his four-year tenure at the College of Auditors of the European Defence Agency, which he chaired for one year. Mr Reisiegel attended his first meeting as the Expert Member of the OECD Audit Committee at the OECD headquarters in Paris on 30 January.

The Audit Committee is a special body of the OECD Council that, among other things, reviews the financial situation of the organisation, the independence and effectiveness of internal and external audits, and monitors how management implements recommendations arising from both types of audit.

The OECD coordinates economic and socio-political cooperation among its 38 member states, facilitates new investments, and promotes the liberalisation of international trade. The OECD aims to boost further economic development, reduce unemployment, stabilise and develop international financial markets.
